We Now Deliver to Vancouver and Selected Metro Areas
You need a wheelchair for your mother arriving from out of town tomorrow. Or a knee walker after your foot surgery next week. Or a hospital bed set up before your father comes home from VGH on Friday. But you don't drive. Or you can't get to Yaletown. Or the equipment is too heavy for your car. Until recently, this meant hiring a courier or borrowing a truck. Or worse — going without the equipment you needed.
That has changed. Yaletown Medical Supplies now offers local delivery to Vancouver and selected Metro Vancouver cities. Both sales and rentals can come to your home, hotel, or hospital discharge address. This guide covers where we deliver, what we deliver, timing, fees, and how to book.
Where We Deliver
Our local delivery service covers six municipalities in Metro Vancouver. These are areas where our team can reach customers and return to pick up rentals.
Delivery available:
- Vancouver — all neighbourhoods
- Burnaby
- Richmond
- North Vancouver (City and District)
- New Westminster
- West Vancouver
Not currently in our delivery zone:
Coquitlam, Port Moody, Surrey, White Rock, and other Metro Vancouver municipalities are outside our current delivery zone. Vancouver Island, the Fraser Valley beyond Coquitlam, and interior BC need courier shipping instead. For these locations, contact us to discuss shipping alternatives for sales products.
What Can Be Delivered
Our local delivery service applies to two separate categories: sales products (equipment you're buying) and rental medical equipment (equipment you're borrowing for a set period). Both qualify for delivery, though the process differs slightly between them.
Sales delivery covers everything Yaletown Medical Supplies sells for outright purchase. This includes bathroom safety products. Grab bars, raised toilet seats, shower chairs, and transfer benches. It covers compression socks from Sigvaris, Medi, and CEP. Orthopedic braces including knee braces, ankle braces, wrist supports, and back belts. Wound care supplies including Tegaderm film, gauze, and dressings. Diabetes supplies including glucose test strips, lancets, and pen needles. Ostomy supplies from Hollister. Superfeet insoles. Adult incontinence products. TENS units. Blood pressure monitors. And every other product on our shopping pages.
Rental delivery covers our full rental fleet. This is new for us in 2026 after years of pickup-only rentals. This includes wheelchairs (manual, transport, lightweight). Mobility scooters. Knee walkers and knee scooters. Rollators and walkers. Transport chairs. Cold therapy machines (Aircast Cryo Cuff). Crutches and iWALK. Bed rails, patient lifts, and trapeze bars.
Hospital bed rental delivery works a little differently and includes setup service. This has been available longer than our general delivery service. Hospital beds are too heavy for customer pickup and require assembly at home. Read the "Hospital Bed Delivery & Setup" section below for full details on this specific service.
Delivery Fees — Simple Pricing
Delivery fees depend on your location and equipment type. Sales and rental pricing differ because rentals include both delivery and return pickup.
Sales Delivery (One-Way):
- Most of Vancouver: $25 flat rate.
- Outside core Vancouver: Add to cart and enter your postal code to see the fee. Some outer areas cost more depending on distance.
Rental Delivery (Round-Trip):
Rental delivery costs double the sales rate. Our team returns to pick up equipment at the end of your rental period. Most Vancouver rental deliveries cost $50 total ($25 delivery plus $25 return pickup). Postal code pricing applies for areas outside core Vancouver.
Hospital Bed Rental (Flat Rate):
Hospital bed rentals include delivery, setup, and end-of-rental pickup for a flat $250. This rate applies to any delivery address within our service area. The price does not change by postal code.
Hospital Bed Sales (One-Way):
Hospital bed purchase delivery with professional setup costs $150 one-way. No return pickup needed because you own the bed.
For exact pricing, add the product to your cart and enter your delivery postal code. We show the delivery cost before you confirm your order. No surprises when the equipment arrives. Some extended health plans cover delivery fees when documented on the rental invoice. Ask your insurance provider before your order.
Delivery for Sales Products
When you buy something from Yaletown, add delivery at checkout or mention it when calling to order. Our staff confirms your delivery address, contact information, and preferred delivery window. Delivery typically arrives within 1-3 business days after order confirmation. Timing depends on your location and current delivery volume.
Someone will contact you before delivery to confirm timing and answer any product questions. Need same-day or next-day delivery for an unexpected hospital discharge? Call us directly at (236) 466-2141. We accommodate rush deliveries within our daily capacity.
For fitted products like compression socks or orthopedic braces, visit the store first. Delivery works well for repeat purchases where you know your correct size. First purchases of any fitted product benefit from in-store measurement to prevent returns.
Delivery for Rental Medical Equipment
Rental delivery works with the same 5-day booking window as our in-store rental pickup. Book your rental up to 5 days before the start date. Select delivery as your handoff method. Provide your delivery address and preferred timing. Our staff confirms all details and coordinates with you before the delivery date.
When our team delivers, they demonstrate proper use. They adjust the equipment to fit the patient. They answer questions about safe operation. This mirrors the in-store fitting experience. Same expert handoff — just at your home instead of our store. For post-surgery patients, this often works better than pickup. You're not loading equipment into a car with a fresh injury.
At the end of your rental period, our team returns to pick up the equipment. Pickup timing coordinates with your rental end date and your availability. You do not transport the equipment back to our store after recovery.
Hospital Bed Delivery & Setup
Hospital bed rental delivery includes professional setup at your home. This is our most involved delivery service. Hospital beds arrive in multiple pieces. They need assembly, positioning, and testing before safe use.
Our team brings the bed frame, motor, controls, side rails, and mattress in one delivery. They carry components into your chosen room. Assemble the bed frame. Install the motor and controls. Attach side rails. Position the mattress. Test all functions before leaving. This covers head elevation, foot elevation, height adjustment, and side rail deployment. Everything works correctly before we leave.
Room preparation is important. The bed requires a wall outlet within reach for the electric motor. Standard hospital beds fit through 32-inch doorways and standard hallways. Very tight turns may cause challenges. Measure your room's doorway width and hallway clearance before booking. This prevents delivery day surprises. Our staff can advise on room preparation during the booking call.
At the end of your rental, we return to disassemble the bed. We remove all components and leave the room clean. You do not deal with heavy lifting, hardware sorting, or transportation back to the store.
The flat $250 hospital bed rental delivery fee covers delivery, setup, and end-of-rental pickup with disassembly. Purchase delivery with setup only (no return) costs $150 one-way.
Delivery Timing and How to Book
Our standard delivery window is 1-3 business days from order confirmation. Rush delivery for hospital discharges or urgent recoveries is often possible. Call to check current availability. Weekend deliveries are available since we are open 7 days a week. Weekend windows can be slightly narrower than weekday windows.
To book delivery for a sales purchase, add it during online checkout. Or mention it when calling to place your order. To book delivery for a rental, contact us within the 5-day booking window. Specify delivery as your handoff method. For hospital bed rentals with setup, call (236) 466-2141 to coordinate timing. These deliveries need more scheduling than standard rentals.
Delivery bookings need three things. A valid delivery address. A phone number for our team to reach you. Any building access considerations. Fob-controlled apartment buildings, high-rises needing elevator scheduling, and gated communities all benefit from advance notice. We coordinate with your building manager or concierge.
Who Uses Our Local Delivery Service
Post-surgery patients arranging equipment for their return from hospital use delivery most frequently. Family members can't scramble to pick up a wheelchair while managing hospital discharge paperwork. We deliver directly to the patient's home before they arrive. This particularly helps hip, knee, and back surgery patients who cannot transport equipment themselves.
Family caregivers use delivery to add safety equipment or mobility aids for elderly parents. No travel required for the parent. New grab bars, raised toilet seats, and shower chairs arrive ready for installation. No stressful outings for someone with mobility challenges.
Home care nurses use delivery for wound care, catheters, and ostomy supplies. Bulk delivery for home care agencies is available with standing order arrangements.
Vancouver tourists needing medical equipment use delivery for their hotel, cruise arrival, or vacation rental. This particularly helps cruise passengers arriving at the Canada Place terminal with equipment already waiting.
Palliative care patients use delivery for hospital beds, patient lifts, and bulky comfort-care equipment. Setup service means immediate use. No boxes sitting around waiting for assembly.
Setup and Assembly Services
Beyond hospital bed setup, we offer assembly service for other equipment that arrives in pieces. This covers patient lifts needing wall or ceiling mounts. Trapeze bars needing bed frame attachment. Some bathroom safety products needing wall or floor installation. Larger rollators or scooters needing box assembly.
Setup service costs an additional fee separate from delivery fees. Our staff coordinates setup timing with delivery. Both happen in the same appointment when possible. For products requiring installation into walls, hire a handyman or contractor rather than our staff. Wall anchor installation needs knowledge of your specific wall construction and stud locations.
