DonJoy has made knee braces and joint supports since 1978, starting in a California garage. Yaletown Medical Supplies stocks DonJoy braces in Vancouver for pickup or local delivery.
DonJoy Braces and Supports in Vancouver
Our DonJoy collection covers the knee, ankle, shoulder, arm, wrist, back, and ribs. It also includes a cold therapy unit for swelling after an injury or surgery. Browse by body area below, then open any product for sizes and prices. Staff at our Yaletown store can help you match a brace to your needs.
DonJoy Knee Braces for Support and Stability
Knee braces make up the largest part of our DonJoy range. Compression sleeves such as GenuLax and GenuForce give light support for sore, tired knees. Tru-Pull Lite, Lateral J, and StrapiLax add support around the kneecap. The Playmaker Xpert is a hinged brace for ligament injuries and unstable knees. The Surround strap targets the tendon just below the kneecap. The Clima-Flex OA knee support suits people living with osteoarthritis. Our guide to seven DonJoy knee models compares braces for different knee problems.
DonJoy Ankle Braces for Sports and Sprains
DonJoy ankle supports help active people keep moving after a sprain or during sport. We stock the Velocity MS, the Velocity EX, and a sports ankle support. The Velocity EX is an athletic brace built for court sports and active prevention. Compare it with Aircast options in our ankle brace buyer's guide. A snug ankle brace should feel secure without cutting off circulation or causing numbness.
DonJoy Shoulder, Arm, and Elbow Supports
The Sully Shoulder Stabilizer Brace uses an adjustable strap for shoulder support. It suits people recovering from subluxation or rotator cuff injuries. The Ultrasling Pro Universal arm sling supports your forearm while an injury heals. The Epiforce elbow support targets sore elbows caused by sport or repetitive work.
DonJoy Wrist, Hand, and Finger Supports
Your wrists and hands work all day, so small injuries add up quickly. We carry the Thumb-O-Prene and Respiform wrist supports from DonJoy. The Digiform finger splint protects an injured finger during recovery. Wrist and hand pain that does not improve needs a medical check. You can browse more options in our elbow and wrist supports collection.
DonJoy Back, Rib, and Abdominal Supports
Back belts, rib belts, and hernia belts add firm support around the trunk. The Powerstrap and Conforstrap back supports help with lower back strain and daily discomfort. The elastic rib belt supports the chest wall after a rib injury. The hernia belt gives gentle abdominal support, but it never replaces medical advice. The MyBabyStrap maternity belt supports the lower back and belly during pregnancy.
DonJoy Braces for Everyday Comfort and Arthritis
Braces also help with everyday aches, not only with sport. Soft sleeves like GenuLax can make daily walking and stairs feel more comfortable. The DonJoy thigh sleeve offers light compression for sore or tired thigh muscles. Wrist and elbow supports help people who type, lift, or work with their hands. Choose light support first, and step up only if your clinician advises it.
DonJoy Iceman Cold Therapy for Swelling and Recovery
The Iceman Classic Cube is a cold therapy unit that comes with a universal pad. Cold therapy helps calm swelling and pain after sprains, strains, and some surgeries. Your surgeon decides how long and how often you should use cold. See our cold therapy and compression devices for more recovery options.
DonJoy Braces for Sports and Active Recovery
Athletes started the DonJoy story, and sport still shapes the line. Basketball and volleyball players often choose the Velocity EX for ankle protection. Runners and jumpers with tendon pain may prefer the Surround patella strap. Players returning from ligament injuries often look at the Playmaker Xpert for added stability. Ask your physiotherapist which level of support fits your sport.
DonJoy Braces After Injury or Surgery
Many people need a brace for a few weeks while an injury heals. DonJoy slings, shoulder braces, knee supports, and cold therapy all fit that recovery stage. Some recoveries also need a walking boot or a knee walker to keep weight off. We carry Aircast walking boots and rent knee walkers from our Yaletown store. Follow your surgeon's plan, because bracing needs differ after every procedure.
How to Choose the Right DonJoy Brace
Start with the body part, then choose a brace that fits your injury. Light sleeves suit mild aches, while hinged braces suit instability and ligament injuries. Kneecap tracking problems point toward the Tru-Pull Lite or the Lateral J. Side-of-knee ligament problems point toward a hinged brace such as the Playmaker Xpert. General arthritis aches point toward a compression sleeve such as GenuLax. Measure the joint with a soft tape, then compare it with the product sizing. A brace that is too loose slips, and one that is too tight hurts. Bring any advice from your physiotherapist or surgeon, so we can narrow the choices. If you are unsure, our staff in Yaletown can help you compare models.
About the DonJoy Brand and Its History
Philadelphia Eagles offensive line captain Mark Nordquist and lawyer Ken Reed founded DonJoy in 1978. They named the company after their wives, Donna and Joy. The first products were simple support sleeves stitched together from neoprene pieces. In 1980, the company added a rigid off-the-shelf knee brace called the 4-point knee brace.
DonJoy Braces Compared With Other Brands We Carry
DonJoy is one of several brace brands on our shelves. We also carry Aircast, Bauerfeind, and medi supports for knees, ankles, and wrists. Each brand has its own fit, so trying a few options can help. Read our Bauerfeind braces guide to see how another popular brand compares.
Why Shop DonJoy Braces at Yaletown Medical Supplies
We are a local Vancouver store that focuses on medical equipment and recovery products. You can talk to a real person about sizing before you buy. We also rent mobility equipment, so one visit can cover braces and walkers. Our team checks that each item suits the body part and the stage of recovery.
DonJoy Brace Safety Tips
A brace supports an injury, but it does not replace medical care. Remove the brace and call your doctor if you feel numbness, tingling, or color changes. Never wear any brace over broken skin or a wound unless a clinician approves. Ask your care provider before using a maternity belt during pregnancy.
